Welcome to Kenilworth House
At Great Barr School, we strive for excellence in all we do and we all have a clear vision of what we are here to achieve. Our mission statement is ‘We will provide the highest quality education for all pupils at Great Barr School’.
In Kenilworth House, we are dedicated to our pupils and strive hard to ensure that pupils are happy, well supported and cared for within a disciplined but caring environment.
As you know, your child will have a Form Tutor who works closely with your child. There are 24 Form Tutors in Kenilworth House. The Form Tutor will communicate with you through your child’s personal organiser. The personal organiser is full of useful information for you and your child and we would ask that you check and sign your child’s planner weekly. The personal organiser is also used to record merits, homework and detentions.
Please contact us the moment you have a concern about your child. We don’t want you to worry unnecessarily and the sooner we know the sooner we can resolve the matter.
We may not always be in the office as we do have teaching commitments but please do leave a message on our voice mail or with Miss Murray. We pride ourselves on ensuring that all matters reported to the office are dealt with quickly, efficiently and appropriately.
Our telephone number, should you need to contact us, is 0121 366 6945.
We are extremely proud of Kenilworth House. We pride ourselves on good behaviour and good attendance. It is all down to our pupils and we are confident that our pupils will continue to amaze us this year.
So our message to you all: encourage your child to represent Kenilworth House in a positive light, let’s always have immaculate uniform, be prepared for the school day and show respect for everyone - treat others how you wish to be treated. Above all and more importantly, let your enthusiasm shine through - it’s infectious!
Kenilworth House is one of four houses. The house teams are responsible for overseeing the welfare and overall academic progress of our pupils. Kenilworth House office is based in Lower School.
Mr Rees joined the School in 1997 and has been Head of Kenilworth House since 2000.
Mrs Morgan is Deputy Head of House. Mrs Morgan joined the Team in 2008. She has been part of Kenilworth House since 2003.
Miss Murray has been with us since 1998 and is our House Secretary. We’re therefore a well established team who have had time to get to know our pupils and their parents well.
