
The Mathematics Department comprises of sixteen teachers, one HLTA and one full time support staff. There are eleven classrooms in the main building, three rooms outside and one purpose built Maths Learning Centre. The department has 32 laptops and a room fitted with 16 desk top computers. We have 4 smart boards and a number of Promethean boards.
All teachers are committed to maintain and stimulate pupil interest and enjoyment in mathematics and to promote thinking and problem solving.
A variety of activities and resources are used to enable pupils to work independently as well as collaboratively and as part of a team allowing them to use core skills such as communication and listening skills.
We are further committed to enable pupils to be familiar with the knowledge, principles and vocabulary related to Mathematics and to enable pupils to see that mathematics is central to our understanding of the world in which we live.
